Required Skills: 
• 3+ years experience in an intermediate mainframe support role that
emphasized SMF data collection, support of performance and capacity planning
functions, for mainframe systems using either MICS or MXG 
• Strong programming/scripting development experience – SAS, REXX,
Excel VBA, etc. 
• Must have strong English speaking and writing skills. 
• In-depth understanding of such tools as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word,
MICS, etc. 
• Familiar with various methods of capacity reporting including trending,
forecasting, and reporting approaches. 
• Individual should be a self starter and capable of working under minimal
supervision and direction. 
• A strong customer satisfaction driven attitude coupled with the ability
to recognize and satisfy customer requirements is essential. 
• A willingness to learn new tools and develop new skills is required. 

Desired Skills: 
• Knowledge of ITIL Standards and operating procedures would be a plus. 
• Experience administering and using performance tools such as RMF Monitor
III, or Omegamon would be a plus 
• Experience writing SQL queries to extract and filter data would be a
plus 

The employee will be responsible for supporting the CA-MICS system, including
product administration and maintenance, all related jobstreams, and the creation
and delivery of capacity planning reports for mainframe systems for a variety of
accounts. 

They must be able to understand SMF data structures, read/write SAS programs,
have a thorough knowledge of JCL, as well as the typical processes found in a
mainframe production environment. 

They should have an intermediate understanding of performance and capacity
planning analysis so as to assist senior analysts in obtaining the data required
for timely results. 
They must be able to communicate well in English, in both written and spoken
formats in order to understand requests, produce the required output(s), and
explain their decisions. The candidate must be team oriented as they will be
working with associates and customers located throughout the world. 

The candidate must demonstrate a high level of initiative and follow through,
require minimal supervision, and be able to handle a wide variety of situations
and problems.
